Back in 2020, Alexa and Emily started talking about opening a cafe. Little did they know, that dream would come to life just three years later in October 2023 when a built out cafe space went up for sale on Broadway in Fargo. Starting with a cottage bakery out of Emily’s apartment kitchen with her well-loved Heart Cakes brand, Eugenio and Driscoll took that vision to a brick and mortar cafe called Moonrise.

With a love for local, fresh ingredients and a desire to bring new flavors to Fargo, Emily & Alexa built a full breakfast and lunch menu in addition to fresh baked daily pastries, espresso drinks, and custom vintage lambeth style cakes.

After fundraising, writing up a 40 page business plan, and acquiring a business loan, they were able to unlock the doors in August 2023 and flip the space just in time for Halloween. It wasn’t without the help of family, friends, and fellow local business owners.

Fast forward to now, Moonrise Cafe is still evolving as we figure out how to best serve the FM community. Thank you for being a part of it!
